Rick Heyden

Rick grew up in Mississauga, Ontario and graduated from McMaster University in Hamilton, Ontario with a Masters of Science in Physiotherapy and an Honours Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology.

As a physiotherapist, Rick integrates techniques from many different schools of rehabilitation including Manual Therapy, Intramuscular Stimulation (IMS)/Dry needling and Rehabilitative Exercise based on each client and their unique circumstances. Rick believes that the core of physiotherapy should focus on giving people the tools and the confidence they need to take control of and assume an active role in their recovery.

During his time at McMaster University and before becoming a physiotherapist, Rick was heavily involved with the McMaster Strength and Conditioning and Sports Medicine programs.  He volunteered as both a First Responder and Strength and Conditioning Coach with the varsity Men’s Soccer and Baseball teams. Rick followed this passion to become a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) with the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA) through which he has continued to engage in ongoing learning.  This CSCS certification led to experience working with a Hockey Canada development camp and Bobsled Canada qualification fitness testing.

In his spare time Rick enjoys playing soccer and spending time in the beautiful outdoors.
